Delicious

I think Delicious offers a good place to keep bookmarks that can be accessed at any location. I do have a hard time with the cloud concept...I guess its not how I think, but I know others really love how it works.

Social Networking

I have been on facebook a few years now and I am a fan of the site- so much so that I moved a newsletter I was doing for our student employees to a group on facebook instead of the traditional paper copy. The group hasn't been as actively used as I would have liked, but there still is possibilities of making it a place where students can always find information they are looking for.

I also have a facebook page with general info about ILL@Augie and a group for my ILL students in the interlibrary loan department, so they can share information back and forth with each other. I think that setting up pages and groups in facebook or myspace is a good idea for libraries because it provides new ways for libraries to reach patrons.

Office 2.0

I like Google documents. For me it is much simpler than the full version of Word because I rarely use a word documents program. I can quickly make a word document and email or grant the recipient access to it. I dont have to try and figure out Word's built-in helpers and I dont have to manipulate Word to do what I want. It is a big convenience having a document writer on the same program as my email for easy access. I like the idea of having basically my own desktop in the virtual world- a place where everything is convenient, fast and compatible.
